Geography

Argentina is a relatively large country in the south of South America. It borders Brazil, Uruguay, Chile, Paraguay, and Bolivia. It has an Atlantic Ocean coastline as well as multiple rivers, including the Parana river. Another geographic feature of Argentina is that it has a part of the Andes that runs through the country’s west (This includes Mount Aconcagua, the tallest mountain in Latin America). In addition, Argentina has fertile plains near Buenos Aires, which is probably why it has many other major cities in that area. Because of its size (880 miles wide and 2360 miles long), Argentina is an incredibly diverse country climate-wise. The climate ranges from wet subtropical regions in the north with temperatures reaching 104 degrees Fahrenheit to temperate regions in the middle where the previously mentioned plains are (average temperature: 63.5 degrees Fahrenheit) to cold and dry regions in the south that include Patagonia, the Drake passage, and part of Antarctica (lowest temperature: -27 degrees Fahrenheit). This size and climate variety means that there is something for everyone in Argentina.
